If you are a fan of new and interesting ammo offerings, 2025 could be the best year on record as three completely new cartridges — .338 ARC, 6mm GT, and 7mm Backcountry — have hit the market, while dozens of new loads are adding capabilities to existing rounds and shotshells.
Berger has two new Target offerings for 2025: 300 Norma Magnum 245-grain Long Range Hybrid Target (LRHT), and 338 Norma Magnum 300-grain Hybrid OTM Tactical. All Berger bullets and ammunition utilize Berger’s J4 Jacket, which is held to the tightest tolerances measuring less than .0003 inches TIR (total indicated runout).
Berger is very pleased to announce the addition of the new .30-caliber 217-grain Elite Hunter bullets to the popular long-range Elite Hunter product line.
The new .30 Caliber 217-grain Elite Hunter offers a heavy-for-caliber bullet solution that maximizes both energy and terminal performance for a successful harvest. Elite Hunter projectiles utilize Berger’s industry-leading hybrid ogive profile, which blends tangent and secant designs to optimize efficiency, reduce wind-drift and minimize sensitivity to seating depth.
The 217-grain Elite Hunter’s sleek profile features an ultra-high ballistic coefficient (BC = 0.695) with increased sectional density, delivering the highest energy upon impact. Elite Hunters are easy to load and shoot and provide unmatched accuracy and performance. Berger 30 Caliber Elite Hunters are now offered in 180, 205, 217, and a massive 245 grain. Elite Hunter will begin shipping to authorized Berger dealers this summer.
The new Berger .270 caliber 150-grain Hybrid Target was born from a partnership with long-range enthusiasts loading modern 6.8 Western and 277 Fury platforms in search of a high-performance projectile. Their demands included an optimized bullet for 1:9-inch twist barrels, unmatched Berger trusted jump-tolerant hybrid ogive, with an ultra-consistent, high Ballistic Coefficient (BC = 0.580/0.297).
The new .270 Caliber 150-grain Hybrid Target is the best choice to breathe new life into existing classics such as the .270 Win., .270 WSM, .27 Nosler, and .270 Wby. Mag. on the range. Like all Berger bullets, the new 150-grain Hybrid Target is built with Berger J4 Jackets, unmatched in the industry with less than .0003 inches in Total Indicated Runout (TIR).
This high-performance, all-range cartridge, with its innovative Peak Alloy case technology, rewrites the rules for modern ammunition. 7mm Backcountry provides superior ballistics and terminal performance through compact, shorter-barreled suppressed rifles, producing 3,000 fps velocities with 170-grain bullets through 20-inch barrels. The cartridge achieves all of this through the patented Peak Alloy case. The next-generation, one-piece case design of an advanced, high-strength alloy allows higher velocities over modern brass case ammunition. SAAMI has recognized 7mm Backcountry as a standard cartridge and added it to its catalog.
All five of Federal’s 7mm Backcountry loads come in 20-count boxes and have velocity data tables for both 24- and 20-inch barrels on the packaging. This caters to modern hunters looking for high-performance ammunition in shorter rifle barrels to accommodate hunting with suppressors.
For 2025, Fiocchi takes things to the next level with the incorporation of Nosler’s cutting-edge RDF (Reduced Drag Factor) projectile.
The RDF bullet’s advanced design starts with an extended boattail, reducing drag and enhancing trajectory for unparalleled downrange performance. The compound ogive further boosts its ballistic coefficient, ensuring minimal wind drift and exceptional accuracy at extreme distances. The bullet’s self-centering profile makes it less sensitive to seating depth, offering consistent precision straight out of the box. And with its ultra-small meplat requiring no additional trimming or pointing, the RDF delivers unmatched performance that is ready to impress even the most discerning marksmen.
Fiocchi is offering its new Hyperformance Match with Nosler’s RDF in the following load configurations:
Fiocchi has added to the Hyperformance Hunt series with several new loads featuring Barnes’ renowned Tipped TSX bullet. TSX is a proven monolithic copper bullet that combines superior penetration and weight retention — compared to most lead-core bullets — along with exceptional long-range accuracy. The Tipped TSX leads with a polymer tip that contributes to the bullet’s exceptional ballistic coefficient and delivers the kind of rapid, double-diameter expansion essential for downing big game quickly.

Purposely designed for hard-hitting subsonic performance, the .338 ARC delivers 1.5 times more energy than the .300 Blackout Subsonic. Engineered for consistent pressure, the .338 ARC provides consistent and reliable cycling with both super and subsonic loads. Featuring the 307-grain SUB-X bullet in the SUBSONIC line and the 175-grain HP in BLACK, the .338 ARC represents the ultimate .338 cartridge that fits in an AR-15 or micro-bolt action.
Hornady has partnered with the following to create platforms chambered in .338 ARC:
Designed from the very beginning to be an amazing all-around precision rifle competition cartridge, the 6mm GT provides low recoil, good barrel life and outstanding external ballistics. Cartridge and chamber were designed simultaneously to ensure match-grade tolerances and accuracy. The 6mm GT was purposefully designed to function from standard AICS pattern magazines. The case length and shoulder angle were selected to ensure flawless feeding from the magazine into the chamber, a common problem that has plagued some 6mm wildcats that are popular in precision rifle competition.
Hornady has partnered with the following to create platforms chambered in 6mm GT:
The new Hornady Aeromatch bullets feature the most popular match bullet profiles and weights from across the industry — now perfected and available from Hornady. Small batches of 3,000 sequential bullets will be available for the high-volume shooter in case quantities featuring six 500-count boxes. Individual 500-count boxes will also be available.
