If you are a fan of new and interesting ammo offerings, 2025 could be the best year on record as three completely new cartridges — .338 ARC, 6mm GT, and 7mm Backcountry — have hit the market, while dozens of new loads are adding capabilities to existing rounds and shotshells.

Berger Bullets

Berger has two new Target offerings for 2025: 300 Norma Magnum 245-grain Long Range Hybrid Target (LRHT), and 338 Norma Magnum 300-grain Hybrid OTM Tactical. All Berger bullets and ammunition utilize Berger’s J4 Jacket, which is held to the tightest tolerances measuring less than .0003 inches TIR (total indicated runout).

• 300 Norma Magnum 245-grain LRHT: We readily achieved ½ MOA five-shot groups with Berger 300 Norma Magnum 245-grain LRHT ammunition in our 300-meter test tunnel. All Berger ammunition is now loaded with Lapua cases and Vihtavuori powders.
• 338 Norma Magnum 300-grain OTM: The new Berger 338 Norma Magnum 300-grain Hybrid OTM ammunition is printing near 1/3 MOA with this test group measuring .5 inches in our 300-meter tunnel. The 300-Grain Hybrid OTM bullet has a velocity of 2,710 fps, creating approximately 4,900 ft-lbs of energy.

New Berger .30 Caliber 217 Grain Elite Hunter Bullets

Berger is very pleased to announce the addition of the new .30-caliber 217-grain Elite Hunter bullets to the popular long-range Elite Hunter product line.

New Berger 6.8mm/.277-Inch 150-Grain Hybrid Target Bullets

The new Berger .270 caliber 150-grain Hybrid Target was born from a partnership with long-range enthusiasts loading modern 6.8 Western and 277 Fury platforms in search of a high-performance projectile. Their demands included an optimized bullet for 1:9-inch twist barrels, unmatched Berger trusted jump-tolerant hybrid ogive, with an ultra-consistent, high Ballistic Coefficient (BC = 0.580/0.297).

The new .270 Caliber 150-grain Hybrid Target is the best choice to breathe new life into existing classics such as the .270 Win., .270 WSM, .27 Nosler, and .270 Wby. Mag. on the range. Like all Berger bullets, the new 150-grain Hybrid Target is built with Berger J4 Jackets, unmatched in the industry with less than .0003 inches in Total Indicated Runout (TIR).

CCI Ammo

• The all-new Suppressor Max 22 LR load is specifically designed for optimal accuracy, terminal performance and noise reduction when fired through rimfire suppressors. The 45-grain hollow-point bullet ensures effective segmentation on impact — even at its low-decibel, sub-sonic 970 fps muzzle velocity. 
• New Uppercut 22 WMR gives defenders even more rimfire options. The new round features a 40-grain jacketed hollow-point bullet with nose skiving that initiates full and reliable expansion through all platforms.
• CCI Blazer Brass Hollow Point is a new product line offered in 9mm Luger (115 grain), 40 S&W (180 grain), 10mm Auto (180 grain), and 45 Auto (230 grain). It features reloadable brass cases, clean CCI primers, and an accurate hollow-point bullet that offers reliable expansion. It is a quality multi-purpose cartridge that’s affordable enough to train or defend with. These will be packed in 50-round boxes with an MSRP of between $37.99 and $52.99 depending on caliber.

Federal Ammunition

New 7mm Backcountry Hunting Cartridge

This high-performance, all-range cartridge, with its innovative Peak Alloy case technology, rewrites the rules for modern ammunition. 7mm Backcountry provides superior ballistics and terminal performance through compact, shorter-barreled suppressed rifles, producing 3,000 fps velocities with 170-grain bullets through 20-inch barrels. The cartridge achieves all of this through the patented Peak Alloy case. The next-generation, one-piece case design of an advanced, high-strength alloy allows higher velocities over modern brass case ammunition. SAAMI has recognized 7mm Backcountry as a standard cartridge and added it to its catalog.

All five of Federal’s 7mm Backcountry loads come in 20-count boxes and have velocity data tables for both 24- and 20-inch barrels on the packaging. This caters to modern hunters looking for high-performance ammunition in shorter rifle barrels to accommodate hunting with suppressors.

New Federal Shotshell Offerings for 2025

• Master Class will comprise six 2.75-inch 12-gauge offerings in 7.5 and 8 shot. This competition-level sporting clay load features a customized Podium wad that extracts peak performance from Federal’s straight-wall hull. Reliable primers, high-antimony lead shot and select propellant combine to break the most challenging targets.
• Upland Paper will comprise six 2.75-inch 12- and 20-gauge offerings in 4, 5 and 6 shot. Experience the nostalgic look, feel and smell of classic upland shotshells without losing the benefits of modern performance with new Federal Premium Upland Paper.
• Black Cloud will now be offered in two 2.75-inch 16-gauge offerings in 2 and 4 shot. Black Cloud FS Steel is equipped with the FLITECONTROL FLEX wad to deliver improved pattern density and consistency through both ported and standard waterfowl chokes.
• Heavyweight TSS will now be offered in two 28-gauge offerings in both 2.75-inch and 3-inch 9 shot. The tungsten-alloy shot material’s 18 g/cc density is 56 percent more than lead, resulting in the highest pellet counts and the most energy at extreme range.
• Hi-Bird Fiber Wads will now be offered in two 2.75-inch 12-gauge offerings in 4 and 6 shot. Reduce your impact on high-volume shoots. Hi-Bird Fiber Wad’s cellulose-based over-powder wad construction helps minimize plastic left in the field. It’s perfect for the field or preserve hunting situations.
• Gold Medal Paper will now be offered in two 2.75-inch 20-gauge offerings in 7.5 and 8 shot. Now available in 20-gauge loads equipped with extra-high-antimony lead shot and the one-piece Podium wad.
• Ultra Steel will now be offered in four 3.5-inch 10- and 12-gauge offerings in BBB/1, BB/2 and 2/4 shot. Federal Premium Ultra Steel features the rear-opening FLITECONTROL FLEX wad and a zinc-plated steel payload. It is available in a variety of standard payloads and loads that feature two sizes of shot.

New Federal Centerfire Rifle Ammo Loads for 2025

• Barnes LRX is an all-new product line loaded in the following cartridges: 7mm Backcountry, .280 Ackley Improved, .300 Win. Mag., .308 Win., 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5 PRC, 7 PRC and 7mm Rem. Mag. New Federal Centerfire Handgun Ammo Loads for 2025

• HST’s new .44 Rem. Mag. load has been optimized for personal defense. It provides more energy than 10mm Auto and .357 Mag. with a larger diameter 230-grain projectile. However, it has better control and less overpenetration than a full-power .44 Rem. Mag. hunting load.

New HEVI-Hitter Waterfowl Loads

These new waterfowl loads deliver a balance of the sheer power of tungsten with the patterning and practicality of steel to deliver better lethality on ducks and geese. HEVI-Hitter will be initially available in 12-, 16-, 20- and 28-gauge options.

Features and benefits include 20 percent 12 g/cc tungsten and 80 percent precision steel payload, large patterns at close to moderate range, pellet counts and power for longer-range kills, reliable HEVI-Shot wad and primer and nontoxic shot.

Other New HEVI Shotshells for 2025

The new HEVI-Bismuth Turkey product line comprises two 3-inch 12- and 20-gauge offerings. With a blend of 4 and 5 shot made with 9.6 g/cc HEVI-Bismuth, turkey hunters get blistering speed and 22 percent more energy compared to lead.

Fourteen new product line additions for waterfowl hunters include a new loading of HEVI-Hammer in 12-gauge, 3-inch, BB, four new HEVI-Metal Longer Range 16-gauge offerings in BB, 2, 4 and 6 shot, eight new HEVI-Steel additions in 12, 16 and 20 gauge, in both layered and standard payloads, and one new HEVI-XII 2.75-inch 20-gauge line extension in 3 shot.

The HEVI-Steel Upland will receive four new 12- and 20-gauge product line extensions in 2.75-inch with 3, 5, 6, and 7 shot. These new loads are ideal for larger upland birds like pheasants. HEVI-Steel Upland is pushed faster than competing steel loads, making it easier to connect on hard-flying birds and delivering more energy on impact.

Several additional new loadings will be available for turkey hunters, including two Magnum Blend 28-gauge offerings in 2.75- and 3-inch in 5, 6 and 7 shot. Plus, there are two 28-gauge 2.75-inch new options in 7 and 9 shot.
