The AR market looks like it is heating up with a bunch of new rifles at all price points, from the Bear Creek Arsenal bolt-action AR-15 to the new Heckler & Koch USA MR A4 series. There are new offerings in AR-style rifles and pistols in 9mm, too. While GPO and Meprolight have new scopes and red-dot optics.

Barrett

New MRAD (MSRP: $1,511) and MRADELR (MSRP: $2,349) barrel conversion kits and caliber options include a 7mm PRC caliber for the MRAD platform with a 26-inch barrel equipped with the Barrett AM/AML suppressor-ready muzzle brake. A new MRADELR rifle 30-inch Barrel Conversion Kit is chambered in 416 Barrett. This barrel, 6 inches shorter than the standard 36-inch configuration, is paired with a Barrett QDL Muzzle Brake.

Bear Creek Arsenal

The BC-15 Bolt Action Style Complete Upper (MSRP: $329.99-$419.99 depending on caliber and options) and the BC-15 Bolt Action Style Rifle (MSRP: $529.95-$644.96 depending on caliber and options) are now available in .350 Legend and .450 Bushmaster. The BC-15 system combines the precision of bolt action with the modularity of the AR platform. The upper and rifle use a rugged steel handle with an ultra-short, 23-degree throw with no noise. The BC-15 Bolt Action Style Upper is designed to fit with any standard AR-15 lower, and the bolt-action-style bolt carrier group utilizes the same T25 Torx bit for disassembly as BCA’s Gen-2 side charging handle.

Big Horn Armory

The AR500 NEXT GEN Complete Upper Assembly (MSRP: $1,200) transforms an existing AR-10 lower into an AR500 rifle using a non-proprietary DPMS-style upper and chambered in 500 Auto Max. The kit features a complete assembled upper, an 18-inch barrel, adjustable gas block, muzzle brake, M-LOK handguard, bolt carrier group, buffer and buffer spring, and a five-round magazine.

Bushmaster

The BA50 (MSRP: $5,984.45), a .50 BMG caliber semi-automatic rifle is being re-released with improvements to the bolt design for improved extraction and feeding. The BA50 includes a Magpul PRS Gen3 Adjustable Stock, a 29-inch free-floating barrel topped with a Picatinny rail and a Bushmaster BA50 3-Port Brake. Available in FDE and black finishes.

The MUTA II (MSRP: $709.95) is the next generation of the Bushmaster MUTA suppressor line. The new MUTA II is lighter, quieter more compact than the original and effectively reduces the sound signature on 5.56 NATO rounds with a 15.4 percent reduction at the muzzle. Overall length is 5.65 inches and it weighs only 12.25 ounces. It features a rugged Cerakote finish and is full-auto rated.

CZ-USA

The CZ BREN 2 Ms Carbine and Pistol are lightweight semi-automatics that operate via a short-stroke gas-piston system with a return spring located within the action. The Ms denotes a modular forend that can be matched to the barrel length.

The CZ BREN 2 Ms Carbine (MSRP: $2,109) is chambered in 5.56 NATO and is equipped with mechanical sights, 16.5-inch barrel and a folding adjustable stock with a raised comb, non-reciprocating, swappable charging handle, ambidextrous AR-15 style safety and mag release, interchangeable barrel lengths and chamberings and no buffer tube. It uses AR-15 style magazines. Overall length is 28.3 to 38.5 inches and weight is 7.3 pounds.

The CZ BREN 2 Ms Pistol (MSRP: $1,899) comes in either of 5.56 NATO and 7.62x39mm and several barrel lengths from 8.3, 11.1 or 14.2 inches in 5.56 NATO, or 9.1, 11.1 and 14.2 inches in 7.62x39mm. The BREN 2 Ms Pistol features a flush rear plate that can accept an AR-15-style buffer tube to install an arm brace or other stabilizing device. A carbine buffer tube and stock can also be installed, or the entire rear plate can be replaced with a factory folding or adjustable stock for those who wish to convert the pistol to an SBR.

New to the CZ Scorpion 9mm carbine line is the ready-to-shoot Scorpion 3+ Carbine (MSRP: $1,499) tricked out with popular Magpul furniture and accessories, including a Magpul MOE-EVO grip, Magpul MBUS sights, PMag EV9 35-round magazine and Magpul M-LOK MVG foregrip. The enhanced grip angle uses Magpul’s proprietary TSP texture.

Daniel Defense

The new PCC line chambered in 9mm is compact, lightweight, fully customizable and built around the AR platform with a fully ambidextrous charging handle, selector, mag release and bolt catch. Three models include the PCC 916 Rifle (MSRP: $1,949), PCC SBR (MSRP: $1,949) and PCC Pistol (MSRP: $1,949).

The PCC 916 Rifle features a free-floated, 16-inch, cold-hammer-forged barrel, 13.5-inch DD4 M-LOK rail, and DD buttstock and grip. The PCC SBR is similar to the rifle except with an 8.3-inch barrel and lightweight, 7-inch DD4 M-LOK rail. The PCC Pistol has an 8.3-inch barrel and lightweight, 7-inch DD4 M-LOK rail and an SB Tactical SB3 5 Position brace. All PCC guns are compatible with affordable CZ Scorpion magazines.

Diamondback Firearms

The DB15 (MSRP: $1,547.00; SKU: DB1889K001) has been upgraded with a Knight’s Armament Cold Hammer Forged Barrel Blank. Designed for enthusiasts and professionals alike, the new DB15’s premium chrome-lined, cold-hammer forged barrel with 1:1 RH twist rate is the result of a collaboration between Diamondback Firearms and Knight’s Armament.

Knight’s Armament provides their proprietary chambered, rifled and chrome-lined cold-hammer-forged barrel blank, and Diamondback then completes the profiling process and assembles the rifle. The DB15 features Magpul MOE K2 Grip, Magpul CTR Stock, Magpul Gen M2 PMAG, Magpul Flip Up Front and Rear sights and an A2 flash hider.

German Precision Optics

At just 9.9 inches long and weighing a mere 20 ounces, the GPO CENTURI 4-16x44i FFP Super Compact riflescope (MSRP: $619.99) redefines expectations for high-performance compact optics for the AR-15 platform. Size is small and features are many, such as DOUBLE HD high-transmission glass, a first-focal plane milliradian reticle illuminated with GPO iControl technology, .1 milliradian turrets that lock, an innovative “in-cap” zero-stop locking function, parallax adjustment with a no-click illumination rheostat and a quick-detach magnification throw lever.

Global Ordnance

The Monolith (MSRP: $1,234.99, UPC: 197892003216) is a buffer-less rifle platform that uses over a dozen fewer parts the a traditional AR-15. It features an innovative Mono Barrel with a single-piece integrated barrel extension, gas block and Dead Air KeyMo muzzle brake.

The Monolith can be fired with stock collapsed or extended, and includes an integrated folding adjustable F5 modular stock, ambidextrous controls, folding forward charging handle, flat trigger and B5 Systems P-Grip 23. This revolutionary rifle platform is compact and lightweight, and comes chambered in 5.56 NATO. It weighs 5.3 pounds and has an overall length of 24.5 to 31.2 inches.

The Monolith Pistol (MSRP: $1,183.99, UPC: 197892003230) is similar to Monolith rifle, except it features a 12.6-inch, free-floated barrel and has a Picatinny rail integrated into the lower receiver, ready to accept all popular folding stocks or braces.

Heckler & Koch USA

The new MR A4 Series includes two new AR-15 style, semi-automatic rifles and one pistol. The two rifles include the MR556 A4 (MSRP: $3999, UPC 642230269408) chambered in 5.56 NATO and the MR762 A4 (MSRP: $4,749, UPC 642230269453) chambered in 7.62 NATO.

Both the MR556 A4 and MR762 A4 use a gas-operated, short-stroke piston system and feature a two-position adjustable gas block for shooting suppressed or un-suppressed, a fully ambidextrous lower receiver, 16.5-inch barrel, slimline handguard with M-LOK interface, and HK416 slimline 6-position buttstock. The MR556 A4 (MSRP: $3999, UPC 642230269439) pistol has an 11.5-inch barrel.

HM Defense

The new StealthMS5 (MSRP: $1,895) is the first, truly integrally suppressed AR-15 rifle with no SBR permit required. The StealthMS5 rifle features HM’s patented 16.2-inch barrel with an integrally machined MONOBLOC gas block and suppressor. The barrel is free-floated in an HM Defense free-float Picatinny rail with M-LOK slots. It is chambered in 5.56 NATO or .300 BLK.

The HM50B2 (MSRP: $7,895) .50 BMG bolt-action rifle is the evolution of HM Defense’s flagship, HM50B rifles. Built for precision accuracy, the HM50B2 Gen2 rifle was reengineering with emphasis on military and law enforcement applications.

Features include a left bolt, right ejection port configuration, allowing the shooter to stay in the rifle, while easily cycling the bolt for quick and accurate repeat shots. The rifle has an upper & lower receiver for easy takedown and storage. The free-floated 29.2-inch barrel rides in a 14-inch Picatinny rail. It ships with a hard case, 10-round magazine, HM target trigger, ERGO tactical Super Ambi grip, HM Precision Adjustable CNC machined stock, HN50 bipod and monopod mount. Overall length is 56.7 inches and weight is 29.7 pounds.

Hydra Weaponry

The new Hydra MARCK-15 H21 (MSRP: $1,400-$1,538 depending on options) rifle is chambered in 10mm Auto and runs off of GLOCK-style 10mm magazines. Features include an H21 mag well, Hydra Quick Change Barrel Upper Receiver (QCB-D), Hydra 16-inch blowback barrel, blowback bolt, and B5 Systems stock and pistol grip. The MARCK-15 H21 weighs 10 pounds and comes in a black finish.

LWRCI

The renowned Individual Carbine series now includes the IC-MKII (MSRP: $2,865.00) with an updated upper receiver, M-LOK mounting system for the handguard and paddle-style two position adjustable gas block. The ICMKII uses LWRCI’s proprietary short-stroke gas piston operating system to deliver reliability in extreme conditions and is easy to maintain.

Other features include fully ambidextrous operating controls, including the bolt catch, bolt release, magazine release and safety selector, as well as charging handle. The IC-MKII also retains the LWRCI signature cold-hammer forged, spiral-fluted barrel, nickel-boron coated bolt carrier, LWRCI Skirmish BUIS, and LWRCI compact stock and pistol grip. The new IC-MKII model is available in both SBR/NFA, pistol and rifle length barrel configurations of 10.5 12.7, 14.7 and 16.1 inches. Available colors are black anodized, tungsten grey, flat dark earth, patriot brown and OD green Cerakote.

Magpul

Maztech and Magpul have partnered to make two innovative aiming products. The X4-FCS, which pairs with a 30mm low power variable optic (LPVO) and works as a mount that provides real-time ballistic calculations for first shot hits on target, even out to the maximum effective range of the ammunition.

The X4-FCS (Fire Control System) uses data points such as temperature, pressure, humidity, altitude, pitch and roll, and heading that are all paired with the ballistic solver and ballistics library thanks to its use of the Applied Ballistics software and ballistics database. By combining these parameters with shooter-supplied bullet and firearm data, the X4-FCS creates a precision, ballistic-compensated offset aiming point through the LPVO overlayed on the optic’s reticle.

The unit is made from billet 7075-T6 aluminum with Type III Hard Anodized Finish in either BLK, FDE or ODG. It is powered by two 18650 batteries or four CR123 batteries that provide one year of life at a use of 10 hours per week. The X4-FCS weighs only 22.6 ounces with 18650 batteries and is water resistant to 3 feet for a half hour.

The X4-LRF is an extremely accurate ranging laser with co-located visible and infrared aiming lasers. It also has an integrated Applied Ballistics calculator. The X4-LRF (Laser Range Finder) can work in tandem with the X4-FCS or as a standalone unit.

Features include 2K or 15K range depending on model. It comes with built-in keypad, low-profile, wired three-button remote, single distance and continuous scan modes, multiple target marking capability, and integral IR pointer and visible red pointer. It weighs 12.9 ounces with batteries, and attaches to the rifle via a Picatinny rail. Or it can act as a standalone, handheld LRF that uses a single CR123 battery.

Maxim Defense

New to the MD:15L lines of AR-15 rifles is the MD:15L 6mm ARC (MSRP: $1,695.95). Chambered in 6mm ARC, it featuring a free-floated 18-inch barrel, Magpul MOE PR Carbine stock, MBUS folding sights, MOE grip, HyperFire PDI trigger and 15-inch M-Rax M-Slot compatible handguard. It’s available in several Cerakote finishes. Also new to the MD15L is a model chambered in 22 LR.

Meprolight

The Mepro MCO Pro (MSRP: $439) is a closed-emitter carbine optic. Features include a user-selectable three-segment 2/68 MOA Speed Ring. It comes with 10 day and two night brightness settings, as well as automatic and manual brightness control. It has over 25,000 hours of battery life on a common CR2032 battery with Shake Awake technology. The recoil block ensures alignment and zero hold. It is also IP67 water/dustproof rated. Comes with a 1.93-inch riser.

The Tru-Vision SR (MSRP: $599) red-dot sight is designed for rifles and features dual selectable reticles: 2/65 MOA Speed Ring or 2 MOA dot. The micro-chassis protects the electronics from damage in the harshest of conditions. It is shockproof, waterproof, and durable. At only 10 ounces, the compact, and lightweight design creates more space for co-mounting magnifiers, laser pointers, IR pointers, etc. on a Picatinny rail.

Another rifle red dot is the M22 PRO (MSRP: $579.99), a self-illuminated reflex sight with light module. Features include a factory-installed light module that eliminates reticle washout and enhances low-light performance. With cutting-edge fiber-optic illumination for daylight visibility and premium Swiss-manufactured tritium vials for nighttime clarity, this sight operates seamlessly in any lighting condition, with no batteries required.

The new line of MVO rifle scopes includes three models: a 1-8x28mm FFP M1, MRAD (MSRP: $1,499.99), 3-18x44mm FFP M3, MRAD (MSRP: $1,799.99), and 6-36x56mm FFP M3, MRAD (MSRP: $2,999.99). All three use a First Focal Plane (FFP) reticle and have a 34mm tube. Features include parallax adjustment, tactical style turrets with 0.1 MRAD click values, M1 MRAD or M3 MRAD with a red or green illuminated etched glass reticle.

Smith & Wesson

The M&P15 SBR rifle series includes three options. All SBR models feature a forged, integral trigger guard, an Armornite-finished 11.5-inch barrel, a chromed firing pin and a forward-assist for positive chambering.

The M&P 15 SBR (MSRP: $469, SKU 13493) has a Magpul MOE grip and adjustable stock. The model M&P 15 SBR BCM Gunfighter (MSRP: $1,279; SKU 13622) is equipped with a flat face trigger, B5 Systems SOPMOD stock, B5 Systems P-Grip 23 pistol grip and BCMGunfighter forend with M-LOK slots. The M&P 15T SBR (MSRP: $1,295; SKU 13623) is equipped with a flat face trigger, B5 Systems SOPMOD stock, B5 Systems P-Grip 23 pistol grip, 10.5-inch free-float M-LOK handguard, Williams Gun Sight Company folding sights and ambidextrous Radian Raptor-LT charging handle.

Streamlight

The TLR RM 1 HL-X (MSRP: $277.30 to $327.86, depending on the configuration) tactical light for long guns features up to 1,000 lumens for extreme brightness over long distances. The light gives users the choice of using either a cost-saving SL-B9 USB-C rechargeable battery pack or a CR123A lithium battery, via either a push-button or remote switch operation. Run times range from 30 minutes using the SL-B9 battery pack to 90 minutes using a disposable battery. It securely attaches to any long gun with MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rails. Made from machined aluminum with a black anodized finish, the TLR RM 1 HL-X has a switch housing made from impact- and chemical-resistant engineered polymer.

The ProTac Rail Mount HP-X Pro (MSRP: $210.00 to $266.00 depending on configuration) long gun light pushes 800 lumens into a far-reaching beam to 648 meters. The new light also has a Jack-Cap tail-cap switch that offers both push-button or remote pressure switch operation.

The new HP-X Pro mounts to a broad range of firearms safely and securely via a one-handed, snap-on-and-tighten interface that permits users to keep their hands away from the gun muzzle. The multi-function, push-button tail switch offers momentary and constant-on operation; the optional remote switch is available in momentary-only and momentary/latching versions. Both allow for one-handed operation of the light’s momentary, constant-on or strobe modes.

The light is also TEN-TAP programmable to allow for selection of three different programs; high/strobe (factory default), high-only or low/high. Runs for up to two hours on High and 26 hours on Low when using an SL-B26 battery pack. With two CR123As inserted, the light’s run time is up to 1.5 hours on High and 21 hours on Low.
