When gun owners get together and visit the conversation obviously turns to guns. In serious conversations however the accessories that we purchase to support our guns is in many cases as interesting as the guns themselves. This is especially true with rifles. After walking the SHOT show floor, I found a good variety of must have rifle accessories that have hit the shelves in 2019.

Real Avid AR15 Armorer’s Master Kit

We have talked about rifle maintenance previously and Real Avid makes it even easier! Real Avid has created a kit that gives you all the tools you need to perform your AR maintenance or even do a modification. Every tool in the kit is carefully designed to make each job as simple and easy to execute as possible. It has an excellent variety of tools: upper and lower vise blocks, bench block, torque wrench, pin and punch tools, picks, sight tools, and more. All these tools fit into a sturdy hard case that keeps everything where it belongs while maintaining portability and being mindful of storage space. It is a great accessory for any serious rifle shooter.

Sightmark Accudot Premium Boresights

Boresights are a priceless tool when sighting in a rifle, saving both time and money. Sightmark debuted a great new boresight set at SHOT show that even has an improved battery system in it! The Accudot Premium Boresight line integrates an internal Lithium-Ion battery that features auto-activation which helps ensure a long battery life. The package includes a recharging dock, USB cable, wall adapter and carrying case. A must have for getting those rifles dialed in.

Magpul Bipod

Well known for their extensive collection of rifle accessories, Magpul announced a new line of bipods at the SHOT Show. The Magpul Bipod is made of polymer and 6061-T6 aluminum with a milspec hard coat anodized finish. Magpul designed the unit to be low profile and easy to adjust with one hand. It weighs less than 11 ounces. Soft rubber covers the feet and has a locking knob cap. These are available in black or FDE and with connectors for M-LOK, Picatinny and ARMS 17S. They are a great lightweight bipod with Magpul durability.

BOG Death Grip Tripods

For those into long range shooting or hunting, BOG has introduced a line of tripods that perform well beyond anything at their price point. Named the BOG Death Grip, it has a series of anodized aluminum locking pins adjusted to provide the ideal angle for standing, kneeling and prone shooting positions. The head rotates 360 degrees and can be canted backwards or forwards a full 25 degrees. It is available in both aluminum and carbon fiber. It is a perfect base to shoot from and is lite enough to carry in a hunting pack.

Seekins MRAZ and RVL accessories

Shooters who run ARs and precision rifles rely on the rail systems on their rifles to mount everything from sights to bipods to night vision equipment. Seekins Precision has now made it easier to change out these add-ons with rails that use toolless spring-loaded clamps that come on and off rifles in a flash yet lock into place securely. The system includes attachments for both Picatinny rails and the ARCA dovetail QD sling mounts, barricade stops and hand grips. It is a fantastic design that make our rifles even more modular!

Pelican Air 1745 Long Case

When we talk about gun cases Pelican is a name that always comes up. They are widely regarded as one of the best hard case manufacturers in the world. For 2019, the company announced an addition to their existing Pelican Air case line. The new Air 1745 Long Case is a 44″ long, hard, lockable case with 8″ of depth. This makes the case the deepest of its long case options. It has built in wheels to make transporting much easier. Two versions are available: one empty and one with Pick ‘N Pluck foam. Whichever you choose, it will serve you well for years to come.
