The GX2 is our new affordable compact carry pistol that is great for self-defense either as a carry gun or as a gun around the house to defend your home to make sure that you and your loved ones are safe.

GX2 Features

There’s a few things that I really like about this pistol that I want to talk about. First off, I have very large hands, I’m not a small guy. most pistols of this size I cannot shoot well because of the grip size. this grip even though it’s short and very compact, fits perfectly in my hand, the gun points naturally, it has a great grip angle and that is absolutely something that you need to look for in a carry pistol.

Taurus GX2 Redundant Safety System

The other thing I like about the GX2 is that it’s a striker fired pistol with a polymer frame, steel top end, and you see a lot of those on the market. What you don’t see in a pistol at this price point and in this compact size very often, is redundant safety systems. Like most of the other striker fired pistols on the market, we have a trigger safety right here that must be depressed for the hammer to fall, the striker to fall. There’s also a safety on the frame as well. It’s got the classic American style safety: sweeping it up is unsafe and prevents a slide from moving. Sweeping it down which is a very natural motion on the draw, disengages the safety and allows you to fire.

The other thing I like about that considering this is a personal defense pistol, is that this safety is low profile enough that if I choose to carry this the same way I would carry other striker fired pistols, I don’t have to use the safety, I can leave it disengaged. it’s like it’s not even there. If I choose to have that redundant safety mechanism it’s easy to engage the safety.

The GX2 is remarkably easy to shoot for the size, it points well the recoil impulse is low, it’s accurate and dependable and it comes in it’s a high-quality gun coming in at a very affordable price point.

This is a gun I would recommend to newer shooters, maybe smaller statured shooters, and people that want something to protect themselves but aren’t going to necessarily spend thousands of rounds of ammunition with it on the range. You can buy it, get enough training to make sure you’re good with it, it’ll be reliable, dependable, it’ll be there for you when you need it.
